ID-225 Oil-on-Water Monitor

The Leakwise ID-225 sensors detect the presence of oil and monitors the buildup of thin layers of hydrocarbons on water.

Many petroleum and power companies use it to monitor oil thickness changes in groundwater wells, intake into Oil/Water separators and for control of oil skimmers. A minimum water level of 30 cm (12 inch) is required.

The ID-225 sensor has a high frequency transmitter that is maintained at the air/water interface and transmits a signal to two vertically positioned grounding antennas that are 180 degrees from each other located below the water surface. The ID-225/100 can detect a 1 mm ( 0.04 inch) oil layer and continues to measure layer growth up to 100 mm (4 inch) and the ID-225/200 can detect a 1 mm ( 0.04 inch) oil layer and continues to measure layer growth up to 200 mm (8 inch). The 4-20 mA output is linear over the entire range.

The ID-225 operates with fluctuating liquid levels up to 30 m (100 feet) and is typically installed in stilling wells. This sensor requires a minimum water level of 30 cm (1 foot).
