Hank Mathies Wins PECN Draw
Hank Mathies of Transgas was the winner of the Titlist Pro V1 golf balls at the recent PECN (Proc ess and Equipment Control News) tabletop show in Sasktoon. Procon Systems provided this as a prize to whomever was the closest at guessing the number of practice (whiffle) balls in 2 glass tubes at our table. Hank's guess of 340 was the closest at only 17 off the actual number.
When I went to pick the balls up from the local golf store, there was a guy is standing out front holding up a single golf ball in his right hand.
He approached me and asked "Are you going in to buy some golf balls?".
"Why yes", I remarked. "Why do you ask?"
"Then I have the deal for you", he replied. "Would you believe that this is the greatest golf ball ever made? You can't lose it. If you hit it into the rough, it whistles. If you hit it into the woods, a bell inside goes off. Drive it into a lake and a big burst of water shoots up six feet in the air for two minutes."
"That's great. Where did you get it?", I asked him.
He replied, "I found it."
